Didn’t start out that way though. The entire morning looked like it could rain any minute, but that only made the humidity worse.  However, at both Edward and Hanan’s houses the A/C was cranked and the spirits were high. Rain or shine, this was the happiest day of their lives. Eddie was being teased by his brother Andre for not knowing how to tie a tie (very common guys, don’t sweat it) while Hanan was very good at containing her excitement/nervousness by distracting herself with dancing and mingling with family and friends.

For a family that has never met me before, they welcomed me with open arms, and treated myself and my assistant as close guests of the wedding. The day flew by so quickly that I couldn’t help but download the photographs to my computer the moment I got home. I needed to.

After a summer hot ceremony in the St.Ilija Macedonian Church in Mississauga we were off to Kleinburg for photos.

If you know me, you know that I LOOOOOVE small bridal parties. Easy to assemble, everyone listens, and bride and groom have more time for their intimate shoot (when I shoo the bridal party away) and let me tell you, I LOVED their bridal party. Best man and Maid of Honor, it doesn’t get better than that. Edwards brother and best man Andre made sure everything was on schedule.

When we got to the reception part of the evening the ladies from RS Divas with their high energy got everyone out of their seats and onto the dance floor. I’ve worked a few weddings with them, and every single time, they delivered fun like no one else. I knew their costumes and dancing would prove to be very nice photography eye candy, and I wasn’t wrong.

Take a moment and enjoy the photos. I sure enjoyed re-living this couples wedding day as I chose my favs.

Dragana was a maid of honor at a wedding I was shooting. Those closest to the bride and groom usually leave an impression on me, so it’s easy for me to remember them.

It was  “mind-blasting” working with all of them and Dragana and I became Facebook buddies shortly after Her and Goran are having a destination wedding, so they hired me to do their engagement photos. I haven’t met Goran until the actual day of the shoot, but when Dragana told me he’s got a Mustang GT V8, I knew we were going to get along just fine.

If you’ve been around me for longer than 10 minutes you probably know that I’m a big car guy (used to work with them in my past life) and I’m a muscle car type guy (all you import guys shaking your heads, don’t worry, you’ll grow out of it) and naturally when we met up Goran’s pristine Mustang didn’t fail to tickle my car bone.

Dragana, having worked with me before, knew how I was behind the camera, so she was very relaxed and ready to shoot.(You too can see how I am behind the camera, just click on “BEHIND THE SCENES” in the INFO menu) Goran was cool too, not really nervous or timid, but man was this guy tall….6’4 or 6’7 i can’t remember right now…..a lot taller than me that’s for sure and I’m 6’0.  As I was shooting this lovely couple, I couldn’t help but notice how they look into each others eyes, and how they held each other. It was only natural for me to have them as close as possible the entire time of the shoot.

A “few” teasers from this beautiful destination wedding in Punta Cana. Jovana & Goran had over 50 friends and family accompany them

for their special day. I’ve kept the blog post to as “little” images as possible, so what you see here are just some of my favs without going into the absolutely

insane party that followed the ceremony. We all ended up on the full moon lit beach until 3am (well, that’s when i went back to my room). Because i was with them for 4 days, we needed to do the “trash the dress” shoot the day after the wedding, so Jovana and Goran like troopers were up at 7am to hit the beach and the pools for some “relaxed” pictures (i’m using way too many quotation marks in this blog post lol)

It truly was a great time with some old and new friends that won’t be forgotten any time soon.

Ok, so these aren’t really engagement photos, they’re more of “post-wedding-love” photos Danijela went away for about a month before their wedding day (yes even Hamid also said “who does that?”), so our schedules didn’t sync when it came time to booking their engagement shoot. When they were free i was busy and vice versa. So we opted to shoot after the wedding day.

Coincidentally, it was also Danijela’s birthday on the day of the shoot.

So what better way to add to the blog than to post a few teasers from Mimi and Seans big day?

Most of the weddings i shoot usually have me covering the bride’s morning, but in this case, Mimi and Sean opted to have me stop by

their condo where Sean and his best man Lucas were getting ready at. It was very laid back, paired with some good tunes, and positive energy. This gave us time for some “cool groom” shots.

When I got to Mimi’s parents house (where she was getting ready) a gorgeous bridal party greeted me as they were ready for Mimi to get dressed. (after i took some photos of her wedding dress)

Mimi exhibited a true timeless beauty in her gorgeous Maggie Sottero wedding dress and was very cool and relaxed (for a bride). She just couldn’t wait to see Sean at the Church.

I like playing with reflections

Some of the mirrors at their condo gave me some interesting perspectives to work with. This shot is half portrait, half detail shot

Even with heels on Mimi was still pretty short compared to the groomsmen. So i decided to use them as a background/props

I’ve never met them before (in person that is) until the day we met to do their engagement photos. Now this wasn’t a “contact a photographer after we’re engaged” type deal.

Jennifer added me as a friend on Facebook a loooooooooong time ago (2 years ago I think). So it caught me by surprise when we met up to shoot, and she told me that her and Daryl have been engaged for just over a month…….As she so lovingly put it “I saw your work through a friend a couple of years ago, and I said, this guy is my photographer” Which is truly one of the most flattering things you can hear from a newly engaged couple.

So I give you some of my personal favorites from their shoot.

I just wanted to make a quick post and share some of my favourite photographs for Jennifer and Colin’s amazing wedding day.

You can see their engagement shoot we did by going to the “behind the scenes” section

Their wedding day was full of little bumps along the way, but you’d never be able to tell by looking at the photos. Hot weather, broke down limo, Colin forgetting the exact words to say during ceremony among many other things. It made for an eventful and one amazing wedding day.

I’m trying to keep the blog updates frequent, so with engagements that’s a little easier than with weddings.

Picking a few favs from an engagement shoot is a LOT easier than weddings.

Meet Mirjana (Mimi) and Sean. Through good ol’ Facebook Mimi got in touch with me shortly after Sean proposed to her. After a few messages back and forth she pretty much booked me via Facebook messages

We shot their engagement on 2 different days, the first day we got rained on shortly after starting and it got REALLY cold. The 2nd time we met, it looked like it was going to pour and again, windy and cold. 3rd time’s a charm, and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer day.

Say hello to Hanan and Edward (Eddie).

This lovely couple came to me courtesy of a dear old elementary school friend, who happens to be Eddie’s, sister in law now.

When they got engaged, and were shopping for a photographer, Jasna (Eddie’s sister in law) said  “you have to get Dan” LOL.

Boy am I glad she did. Eddie is beyond cool. He’s such an easy going guy, andwhen you first meet him you can’t help but notice his size (in a good way) Edward has arms and chest that could give the Governator (Arnold Schwarzenegger)  a run for his money (in his prime). Hanan, is a true timeless beauty. I wish i could say more, but in this case i will let the pictures speak for themselves. Very soft spoken, and truly elegant.

I simply can’t wait for their wedding day.

Janet and George were clearly expecting the worst in terms of weather. Getting married in late November you’re somewhat expecting a blizzard.

Well, that wasn’t the case, but the weather wasn’t exactly nice either. Nevertheless, the drop in temperature didn’t lower anyone’s spirits on Janet and George’s wedding day.

The ceremony was the beautiful Hart House University of Toronto, and the reception was held at the Eglinton Grand. Both locations added their own wonderful character to the wedding day.

Janet and the ladies got ready at Janet’s house.

Janet’s dad was super happy. But there were plenty of moments where he had to hold back tears.

Mom was helping out put the final touches as the dress went on.

How gorgeous is this?Janet’s mom was very emotional prior to the ceremony. Rightfully so, this would be the last time her little girl left their home, and start a new life and home on her own.Hart House Music Room was the spot for the ceremony. It was PACKED.George of course would be grinning ear to ear. Just look at his bride. The Hart House was very accommodating and we promised to be “vewy vewy quiet” while we were shooting in the library. Eglinton Grand has an awesome balcony overlooking the main hall. So while all the guests were up there at the bar getting a drink and having a snack, they were entertained by Janet and George performing their first dance, hence the empty hall. But it does create a beautifully intimate setting for photos.Some of George’s buddies really got into the spirit of things. Generally i don’t post many reception shots, but this guy deserved his own post LOL.
